Lake Stewardship
Property Owner Education
Our lakes are special, and an integral part of the lifestyle, heritage, and economy of the area. It’s no small effort to protect our lakes – it takes all of our combined efforts. OTLPOA provides communication and resources to improve our knowledge in areas such as aquatic invasive species, water levels, boating safety, shoreline erosion and more.

Water Testing
OTLPOA members volunteer their time to assist OTC COLA in its Water Quality Monitoring program. Through this collaboration, your lake association helps share vital lake monitoring measurements that are are recognized as significant indicators of lake health.
Our volunteers collect water clarity samples on a consistent, scientfic basis. OTC COLA coordinates the water sampling, transports samples and reports results between the lake associations and the analytic laboratories as needed.
Samples are analyzed by RMB Environmental Laboratories, Inc. in Detroit Lakes.

Boating safety
Buoy Placement
OTLPOA manages buoys to alert boaters of rocks that may be present in the water. The buoys are located in areas that have the largest threat to cause damage to a watercraft. Volunteers maintain, place, and remove these each year.
